I like to travel, eat and think.

BigMatty is a nickname.

From a young age I have loved international travel, beginning with high school and college study abroad experiences in Brazil and Hong Kong. We now try to travel internationally twice a year, and domestically as much as possible.

I also love food of all kinds. Nothing fascinates me more than visiting a new place and finding out what the people there eat. It is history, geography, politics and philosophy, all mixed up and served on a plate (or from a bottle).

My long-term goal is to live abroad and experience lots of other places - or at least visit them, eat their food, drink their alcohol, and use their restrooms - before I die.
